David Peck is a retired professor whose research has centered around comparative theology, with a particular focus on the teachings and traditions of Sufi Islam and contemporary Christian denominations in the West. Through conducting documentary research and in-person interviews in India, Turkey, South Korea, and the United States, they have gained extensive knowledge of these topics and have presented their findings to Sufis in these locations.

He received their Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Utah in History, with a major field of study in the history of the modern Middle East and a minor field in Islamic civilization and modern Europe. They have also held various positions at Brigham Young University-Idaho, including Faculty Association President, World Foundations Curriculum Development Team Chair, and India Study Abroad Task Force Chair.

In addition to their academic accomplishments, David has been actively involved in professional activities such as presenting at the World Sufi Forum in Delhi and the Congress of the Universal Sufi Council in Istanbul and participating in interfaith panels.
